I've been storing my track tires in my attached garage for years now. Never had an issue -- I store them on their sides, stacked one on top of the other.
Then again, my garage never gets below freezing, since my house is a bi-level and the garage is basically half of the downstairs area. If the garage temps would dip below 32 F, then I would consider storing them elsewhere.
