Tabs' thread got me thinking about bad art. The link to
http://www.museumofbadart.org/ really cracked me up.
Has anyone here ever been stuck with a piece of bad art? I think it's the scariest gift imaginable. My wife and I are fussy... I have refused to put pieces up.
Most people know better than to chose art for someone else. However, it's always the people with HORRIBLE taste who seem to disregard this rule.
This is the worst that comes to mind. This was a SURPRISE gift for my brother & his bride, from a friend who is dating an
artist:
-The
artist did it using pictures of my brother & his wife... he had never seen them in person.
-My brother, although handsome, does not look like Telly Savales; my sister-in-law does not have a mouth like a puckered arse.
-It's HUGE... 3'x4'
-It originally had flames coming from the buildings in the post-apocolyptic background, but the "friend" suggested they be removed, along with angel wings on the chair.
-it has a signed "Certificate of Authenticity" on the back
It wasn't intended to be funny, but it cracks me up every time I see it. Seriously, I just die laughing.
They don't think it's funny AT ALL.
