That is a big issue. Replacing the fuel filler neck fixed the problem for me.

Over on Rennlist, it is suspected that gas spilling out the neck and draining down the over-flow drain hole, has created a nice gas slick in front of the left-rear tire and caused more than one accident at track events.

I'm a little surprised that flaw doesn't get more attention.
