I've actually demonstrated to people that if you just close it lightly, it clacks shut like a vault door. You can actually feel the mechanisms through the door handle. I've explained it a million times to people, and it just doesn't seem to sink in; my most recent ex-GF, who drove a Grand Cherokee, slammed it every time, and gave a bashful "sorry" right away (she was the kind of girl that found acts of chivalry, like opening doors for her and ordering for her at a restaurant, to be archaic and sexist).
