Have the dealer fill out the Department of Revenue (State of Georgia) form ST-8 (rev. 12/01). This is the Nonresident Certificate of Exemption Purchase of Motor Vehicle.

With this form complete you should be OK for avoiding the State Tax. Another idea would be to have the car shipped to Champlain, NY and meet the trcuk there. We paid $700 for this. It would have cost us more to fly to Atlanta and drive it back (with 2 nights hotel and food). The We will be meeting our darling tomorrow in Champlain, NY to bring her across to Canada.

As for the DRL, there is a hack available on the 'net here: http://www.whiteson.org/boxster/mods/drl/

Lastly, for the Airbag sticker, take one from an exisiting car (any car, go to the scrap yard) and glue it on the visor. When Canadian Tire reviews the car, they will see the sticker. It does not have to be from a Porsche (he's not going to read it).
