To each his own...(edit) I will say that I am still in contact with R Gruppe members, and there are nice guys among the gruppe. I just wasn't a good fit. Perhaps it's my blue collar & redneck attitude...old fashioned values.

(edit again)...you see, I'm a 60+ year old guy...self employed my entire working life. I didn't take orders well. I thought it was a car club, not the military. All those "you must" and "no exceptions" email orders just rubbed me the wrong way. Long before getting those emails I had figured out that there is only one thing in this life that I "must do"...that is, to die. I don't have to own a porsche, I don't have to attend a minimum of events, I don't have to do a damned thing these guys gave me "orders" for.

So, rather than click my heels, stand at attention and salute, I decided to resign...then I decided to sell the car. I'm done.

So this early 911 driving club asked you to leave the group because you refused to participate in their events? Sounds reasonable to me.
