huh?

'rigidity of the traditional frame'? there are an awful lot of compact geometry carbon frames in the pro ranks. i.e. not traditional and not AL and TI. regardless... pro riders ride what the team sponsor says to ride.
my point (if there was one) was that you can get away with non traditional shapes using non traditional materials.
