I just got my 84 911 Targa and took it away for the weekend to Eastern PA - about 125 miles from New York City. My wife took the kids in the Honda Pilot (I have not figured out two car seats yet!)
I had a BLAST - probably put about 400 miles on the car with about 150 on winding back country roads. I drive the car mainly in Brooklyn, New York City to take my son to school (beats the tedium of the Honda). Absolutely bought the car to DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE. And if I wear this one out, I will buy another one.
I found myself getting really sleepy in the Honda Pilot. It is a very comfortable BIG car that handles fine for an SUV - but I felt like I was getting way to lax in driving it. The 911 has certainly woken me up. I definitely don't want to break down in the wilderness - but that is why I have the towing plan and a tool kit.
These cars are meant to be driven and enjoyed. Autocross is next for me!
