How many houses have been destroyed? I just saw the Governator on TV a few minutes ago, and he said 800, but that seems low.

But even if it ends up being 10X that amount, from SB to SD, would that really affect housing prices or rental rates, given that is a tiny fraction of the millions of houses in that area? Esp. given that most who lost their house are not going to buy a new one, but will rebuild their current one (and if they don't, someone else will).

I can't see how this could affect housing prices at all. Maybe rental rates in the immediate areas that were most impacted might go up a bit.

Anyways, sure looks bad out there, hopefully it gets under control soon.
