Hey Guys,
Well, I guess it was my turn – someone decided it would be great fun to take a crowbar (I’m guessing) to the DS window, rear window and PS rear brake light assembly over night last night on the Carrera. I have a high deductible on this car so will probably have to eat the costs, but one of my many concerns is that I believe the rear window is NLA. Here are my questions:
1) Can anyone confirm that the rear glass is NLA? This is what I was told by my local glass shop.
2) Is it possible to go with the trimless gasket on the rear glass on an ’88 and if so is a different piece of glass needed (‘89+)?
3) Can anyone recommend a competent glass installer in the greater Sacramento area?
Fortunately, it appears there is no body damage and none of the contents were disturbed other than being showered with glass. I will post pics as soon as I can.
The ironic thing is that I was just told yesterday that the 2” crack in my 6 month old windshield was irreparable and would be another ~$600 to replace. Why didn’t the vandals do me a favor and break that out, too?
Thanks,
