David944 Why does it matter?
I was trying to demonstrate that I was not some punk kid saying I took on a much more powerful and ballanced car with my Ford Taurus SHO and beat him. Did my post say that... no it did not. What it said was that I raced one and stuck with him in the tight traffic shuffle.... in and out. When you are racing through traffic it is as much about the driver as it is the car. Quick reaction and the right decisions. Now had I been driving some Yugo.... it would have been entirely different.
Why does it seem that you keep picking a fight. Are you not in the holiday season? Did I attack you, or your favoriate mark? I do not recall saying anything that should have been taken as such. I told two factual stories backed with a Car and Driver test about the cyclone. I did not say that Lotus sucks or anything. I like Lotus products, just like Porsche more.
Does the driver matter... absolutely. Can a great driver make up the difference between two unequal cars ... yes, as long as the difference is not to great. A professional driver in a Yugo is not going to catch my wife in a 928GTS. To much differential. (there are conditions to that of course but only have so much room here) Oh and my wife can drive! Am I such a driver.... I am a good driver... not the best. This lotus driver was not very good. So I suck with him... so what. It was fun at the time and it was a story to tell. Oh and one addition. The SHO was a lease vehicle. You guessed it.. the lease was up and car was turned in the next morning he he. Ah what a final weekend though!
Merry Christmas
