You would normally follow the firing order of 1,6,2,4,3,5 by swithcing from one side to the other after truning crank pulley 60 degrees. If you want to do one side and than the other, you have to spin the crank pulley 120 degrees for cylinder 1,2,3,4,5,6 -- I have never done it that way, so you would be wise to check out this procedure to confirm what I've written.
