I've never seen an SC without a sunroof! I think that they were all imported to the states with sunroofs, but I'm not 100% sure.
$12K for the Carrera is CHEAP! Make sure that there is nothing else wrong with it. I would go with the Carrera, especially if it has a fresh top end on it. Sounds like a great deal.
On a side note, I have seen Carrera Cabs for about $15K around here. Not sure of the condition, but at that price...
