These are all valid points. However, for some people, bigger is not always better. Therefore, a F150 Crewcab or a Navigator is not always interchangeable with a Cayenne or an M-Class. Also, "houses" vary a lot in price, which makes a Cayman S a pretty nice "house" for some folks too. It's all relative.
In my opinion, if you start to "rationalize" any Porsche purchase, you will probably wind up with something else (unless you started the process with a Ferrari in mind). It usually boils down to emotion and image.
