If I want to haul people I buy a sedan, if I want to haul stuff or tow a trailer, give me a body on frame truck.
My wife is partial to trucks, so we have a body on frame SUV that towed a car and hauled a bunch of stuff out to Cali from Texas.
I would never try to rationalize any decision I make, but I try to make important decisions rationally. If you are shopping for a place near a track, I guarantee I could find you a number of places within an hour of the track in Bryan/College Station, Texas for less than you could get ANY new P car
