So the Universities can tell who has been "poorly educated"? As opposed to "uneducated" or "without collegiate or post-collegiate education."
I suppose, if I was, say, the University of Michigan, and a student's parents had gone to, oh, say the Southern Ohio College of Learning Things (a/k/a Ohio State) I'd conclude that such parents were "poorly educated".
