I can see the reason for confusion here. In Wayne's book he refers to an allen head adjustment INSIDE the pump behind the allen head bolt on the face of the pump. This is incorrect, at least on the 72 2.4 pump. The bolt on the face of the pump is a 5mm allen head bolt, behind it is a small slotted adjustment screw set 2" or so into the body of the pump.

I have a small screwdriver I use to adjust it - the sort that are made to clip onto your shirt pocket work well.
