Did the E use a 7R case? I could be wrong, but think the 7R case is a later model case than the 911E, which was last made in '73 as a 2.4. Did you e mail the seller with more questions? If a factory engine & not a replacement case, there should be an engine number stamped, on the upright at the 3:00 position below the fan opening.
