You guys are correct. The older radios have two parts. The front portion is the rx of the radio. The back portion that you have is the amp portion of the radio. It bolts to the rx with a couple of metal straps. Depending on the vintage many of the early amps operate on 6V or 12v. As far as value its not worth much, as Doug stated the caps are probably dry. Now if you had the front end (the rx) to it and if it was working it would be worth $100.00 PLUS (to someone like me looking for an old tri-band 6V for my 356)!!!
