AWD wont do squat on glare ice. will need chains, studs, sand or salt for that.
otherwise +1 for the scubby, multiple snow trips, only time i got stuck was sliding into a snow covered parking place at Stevens pass. they had a truck patrolling the lot for pulling idiots like me out of the 12" of snow that had fallen that morning.
