Back then it was almost like joining a fraternity of nothing but cool people with the added benefit of having something the rest of the world ingnored and equated with the eccentric. I guess for the most part we were eccentric. There was definatly a differance between us and say a Corvette owner.

What the f..k happened? This site, most Porsche meets etc. etc. are made up of guys with nothing better to do than sit around and nag like old ladies. " Edith, did you see what that 944 was wearing". Or like this guy above, spouting info that any third grader could find. On top of that, most of you guys could never think about (for that matter, have the tallent) driving the cars you have anywhere close to their limits. I'm being kind here for sure.
OK r356,
So lets show our cards. Here is my 3rd grade information. Below is a pic of my 67 911 normale sunroof coupe which I have been offered more than $50,000 by more than one person with cash in hand. ONe guz offered $54000. NO exaggeration. My 67 911 is rallye ready and babied most of the time, and driven at redline on occasion. Not raced. I wouldnt bother owning the car and tying the money if I didnt drive it hard occassionally. AS you can see for yourself, it also has a lot of the expensive goodies on it that bring the worth of the car up as mentioned in my last post.

Dont kid yourself into believing that this board is filled by people with no knowledge of their cars and no desire to drive them hard.

I could care less if you keep your car or sell it. But if you dont believe your car is worth what I estimated, then put it up on EBay for a week and see what it brings. Put the reserve at $50k. If it sells there you will be happy, right? If it doesnt, you will know what the general market thinks it worth.

You should be a little more respectful of the people who use this site. You would be truly surprised by what people have, what they know, and how hard some of us drive our cars on this board.
