There has been much discussion on the type and brand of oil to use in our cars, but what about gasoline. Is there a big differance in the major brands? I realize different states have laws about additives that determine the differances from state to state, (Calif. gas mixture is different than the New England mixture than the southern states mix, etc, etc,). If someone replies and says Mobil is the best, his Mobil is going to be different than mine to some degree. The major brands have to be competitive with one another, therefore I can't see one being clearly better than another or they would price themselves out of the market.

Come on-someone explain to me how Brand X can be so much better ("I only feed my baby brand X) than Brand Y ("My car won't even run on brand Y") and be only $.02/gal more.

BTW-My wife bought regular unleaded today for $0.87/gal.
