Ben, I spent recently considerable time and aggravation considering a 911S with an engine that had been "highly modified" by Blair. Everyone (seller, seller's wife, AND Blair) was thrilled at the prospect of my taking the car off their hands, until I mentioned that I was ready to have my wrench (Bill Rudtner) look it over. Suddenly seller (after consulting with Blair) balked and the deal died. Seller stopped returning calls and e-mails. What was I to conclude??? Since then, I've heard enough to confirm my suspicions. I knew my prospective 911S had *some* problems. Now, I've learned just how naive I was being. Whew! Clean getaway. I've had similar experiences with other "gifted but eccentric and irrascible" wrenches. If you've caught them on a good day, great. If not, look out. In the end, it makes our hair a little thinner and grayer, and our wallets a lot lighter. Glad your baby's running again.
