You do live like that...you may not realize it, but you do. Australia's gun ban may have taken your gun away, but the bad guys still have them.
"It" can happen in any neighborhood in the world...any time. You're whistling in the dark to believe otherwise.
This came home to me when there was an armed and dangerous murder suspect running around my quiet rural neighborhood for a few days. I didn't leave the house without being armed with either my hi-power or my mini-14...often both. I kept the hi-power near me at all times.
It was like living in a ghost town...neighbors in contact by phone, nobody going out unarmed, traffic up and down the road nil....
Our local sheriff? Pretty worthless...this very bad guy escaped his "roadblock", was captured later more than 100 miles from here.
