Oh, and I must add that there are a lot of gov't. types who are exempt from HOV rules. You see them driving solo in their Crown Vics and Suburbans all the time, even when the other lanes are empty, they're always in the left lane because they have that little red or blue light on the dash that makes them above the law. I hate them. Someday I will get to tell one of them off.
