That's weird, when the restore ran and re-booted the PC did it give you a message saying it was "successful"?
Also when you logged back in did your desktop look the same, were all your internet favorites still there?

What are you using for email, outlook, outlook express, etc? By default outlook puts your address book and old mail messages in a hidden system folder
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

In order to see the above location you have to go to Control Panel > Folder Options > click on the View tab > check the radio button "show hidden files and folders"

Not implying you don't already know this but just incase
