The times when I've driven through there were impressive: small rundown(cheap) houses on lots of plush land-Florida used to be the cow capitol of the US. Good personal property protection(re:OJ) and redneck enough to leave a couple of truck on cinder blocks in the front yard.
One thing to consider is the state is guarenteeing home insurance poilicies, so when the next hurricaine destroys the billion$ coast, it will show up in everyones taxes. RE supposedly has been diving everywhere but St.Petes and Miami, so investments should be planned.
