I loved the original film, as shown in the cinema. Many people disliked the narration, but I thought it fit with the feel of the movie. Sure, the 'happy ending' was a bit much but it gave the film an ending that also fit for the 1980's.

The directors cut left me feeling like something had been lost from the original release. Something like.... key scenes.

Sounds like the Final Cut will be what I wanted all along, exploring Decker's possible pasts.
