What would be the likelihood of me mistaking the smell of oil for the smell of coolant burning, though? Would burning oil be whitish-blue? Although the fact that there was oil all over the spark plugs explains the rough running at idle (it would burn off once the car is in gear).
I like the idea that this is a oil leak and not a coolant/head gasket problem very much... so far there is no trace of coolant anywhere. Coolant levels in the tank seem to be normal. Maybe I'm just looking at a massive oil leak? Rear main seal?
