The issue that i would like to be brought main stream is the whole earmark/lobbyist issue. I think it's a damn shame that people have basically allowed the government to talk their way out of the spotlight on this issue. I think that most issues that are present have some underlining issue that stems from this system and the only way to fix it is to go to the root. Doesn't matter how congress likes to spin it, lobbyists and earmarks are just "nice labels" placed on what they really are, which is extortion and bribery. That is one of the reasons why i can never find myself voting for Fred Thomson. No matter how much he likes to come across as a likable level headed republican, he used to be a lobbyist, and is therefore the scum of the earth to me.
