Just went thru my records and receipts and wanted to update the add with the corrected specs on this engine:
Type 1 VW dual port engine:
1) 90.5mm Mahle Pistons and Cylinders (thickwalled cylinders) 9.5:1 C/R
2) 78.0mm stroked crankshaft from Vee Dub Parts Machine. Fully welded counterweights. Drilled for 8 flywheel dowel pins and heavy duty Gene Berg forged 4130 Chrome moly flywheel gland nut.
3) Gene Berg Large diameter Chrome-moly pushrod tubes. "Wide base lifters" solid lifters.
4) Gene Berg 302 Grind cam 308 degree duration cam with stock ratio rockers. Elephant feet valve adjusters.
5) Gene Berg shimmed rocker arm shafts (eliminates the springs between rocker arms for better rocker location)
6) Large dual port heads Small Car Specialties HB3 heads. Ported and Polished with 40mm Intake valve, 35.5mm Exhaust valves.
Racing dual valve springs.
7) Heavy duty oil pump (wider drive gears) with Berg Full Flow cover for remote oil filter. Tapped and plugged for improved oil bypass.
8) Berg 1.5 quart additional cast oil sump. Tapped and fitted with remote oil temp sensor for VDO gage.
9) Gene Berg supplied KEP 1700lb pressure plate and lightened flywheel.
This engine was a screamer in my VW Karmann Ghia.
It is just a long block for sale, everything is here except for the distributor and the cooling tin/fan shrouding and alternator.
Have one person interested now, waiting on me to get back in town to show him.
However, no deposits yet.
PM me with interest.
Fred
