Do a few laps around Portland (OR) International raceway in a driving rainstorm....you'll figure it out. On the street? The first heavy rains of the season are MUCH slicker than the rains of February...the early rains bring all the oil drips back to the road surface. Body shop owners pray for rain as much as they pray for black ice.
(edit) Like people living in snow country can distinguish between the various types of snow? True Oregonians know of the various types of rain, and the driving hazards these types contain...
