My Father was born in 1930, served in Korea and Vietnam. In all the times in my life I have even approached the level of peril he faced during my time as a navy pilot (Ernest Will, GWI and subsequent) every we time we talk before I deploy the only thing he ever says is, "do the the right thing and take care of your people".
The fact that I know what he means speaks volumes of him, not me.
