These Carrera's and SC's are still not collectible yet and there are plenty of good cars available for decent prices if you are patient.
Good motor rebuilds are in the $8,000 to $12,000 price range and fixing/painting a car correctly with major body damage and or heavy rust can run just as much. So, if you have a car with a hard hit or a huge motor repair looming, parting it out is probably more profitable than fixing it or trying to sell it damaged or broken.
Once these SC's and Carreras hit the appreciation rate that the long hoods are at right now, you'll see less and less cars for parting out and more people sinking the money into them to keep them running.
