Harri,
I'm in the process of restoring a 71E. I ordered and received the Certificate of Authenticity to verify that I had the matching numbers engine, tranny and so forth. One other detail was that the car originally was ordered with a 4 speaker system. I'm not sure if that means, 4 speakers in addition to the dash or not. My door panels had speakers mounted in them and I ssuspect that the other two were in the rear deck panel, but again I'm not sure. I'm researching that now and I'll let you know what I find out. My E was painted black and I've returned it to the original silver. I love that olive green and I would return the car to that color, if I were you. Per my research, the 70-71 2.2 engine compartment, wheel wells and underside are black and the trunk is body color. I think that this changed for the 72-73 model years and the engine compartment and perhaps the wheel wells are body color. (get on the Early S registry website and someone there will know).
good luck with your project,
Al
