Will California now "brand" the title as a salvage or as having been stolen, or will the police report now show up on Carfax as a stolen and recovered car?
If so, you should check with your insurance company and see if you can get a payment for diminished value because of the theft. Because if the title gets branded, the value of the car will be hurt, even if no damage was done to the car.
