I'm sure want you car returned as soon as possible, but there's a good reason to get your car out of impound quickly. When my truck was stolen in LA, partially stripped, recovered and then taken to police impound, my insurance company was notified. They sent out their claims adjuster, who as part of his report took several photos of my truck in the impound yard. A couple of days later I met the claims adjuster at the impound yard to see the truck and was surprised to find that since the time the photos it had been taken the truck had been further picked over (while in the yard!). All the remaining bits of trim in the photos was now missing. My insurance agent didn't seem too phased by this ad I got the impression that this was not unusual.

And yes you have a beautiful car, now that its back, hopefully it will stay with you for a long time.
