If so, you should check with your insurance company and see if you can get a payment for diminished value because of the theft. Because if the title gets branded, the value of the car will be hurt, even if no damage was done to the car.

It will only get branded "salvaged" if the insurance company has to cut a check for more than the value of the vehicle. As in most cases, vehicles get stripped of all their value which causes them to be branded "salvaged".
