Mine started as a '74 US Carrera. I'd LOVE to have a Euro as I, too, "prefer my sports cars fast and light." Keep the smog junk, giant strytted bumpers, and A/C! Thanks again for all your help, Uncle Sam.
Nick, I think there were quite alot of differences to the US cars due to DOT regulations - ride height, heavier bumpers, thick safety glass, etc.... I'm would guess the exact types of differences changed somewhat from year to year.
