wowee that's a lot of coin for a car.
Sometimes my concepts of car prices are completely askew. Maybe ~70k is a good deal on that car, I have no concept. Maybe it's great comparing it to similar cars, but when I look at what 70k could buy, I struggle with the value. If I had 70k of "fun money" to spend on cars, it'd be tied up in a longhood 911 for the summer, a Carrera 4 for the winter and a solid but tatty landcruiser diesel for year-round step n' fetchit duty.
I get into the same thing with daily drivers. I'm on the hunt for a car now, and I'm blown away by what my peers are spending on cars. A coworker has a 40k SUV, another is leasing a corrola for ~$400/mth. A friend of mine just signed a 5 YEAR LEASE on a Yaris, $280/mth = $16800 to basically maintain a rental car. I have no problem with the dollar figure, but where's the value when you compare it to a 2-3 year old Camry or Accord? I honestly had a hard time talking with him about it, I'd get so frustrated.
