I like elfers idea.

If you figure your gonna take a hit on selling it... what do you honestly think you could get...8K?
Think about this... I would say you could get maybe 4.5K for a well documented, complete 3.0 engine. I've seen 3.6s for sale for about 6K, you'd have to add in the extra amount needed for the conversion...maybe Jack could enlighten us a bit more on mandatory added costs.
The difference might not be all that great by doing the conversion when you factor in the amount you will lose on the car, plus the amount you'd have to spend in the future on a CA legal car.

Just something to think about. I wouldn't say that a 3.2/3.6 liter conversion is easy... but it's probably on par with trying to dismantle it for parts!

And it would be cool!
