patching ideas
hi all, my 68 912 has rusty floors and front pan half - these areas seem straightforward to fix. however there are a few areas that I'm not sure how to fix. the battery location area has rust along the bottom front of the inner fender panel. i have not seen a patch panel for this so do i have to fabricate this section? the drivers door by the hinges is dented (no idea how this could happen since the hinge post is fine). has anyone tried to fix this or should i just replace the door?
another thing i noticed is that the rear quarters are a little mis-matched. the wheel opening has no flare at all on the passenger side but the drivers side has a slight flare. there is no signs of panel replacement/bondo or rust so I'm wondering if this is normal. i plan on learning to hammer/dolly to make 911r flares so it does not matter but I'm curious about this.
thanks!
