Engine noise driving me nuts!!

I got a Stiletto 2 from best buy last week.

Before that I had my Sirius sportster (exactly like the one Jay is rockin)

I finally fixed the radio in my RX7 so I decided to put the Sirius in it. The radio makes no noise at all, its nice and quiet in FM or CD mode. The radio I bought allows for an I-pod hookup so I plugged my Sirius directly into the I-pod hookup. When I do this I get a LOT of engine noise, so much it will give you a headache and overpowers whatever is on the radio.

So I went ot Radio Shack and bought a $30 noise eliminator and installed it on its own circuit just for the Sirius. Same noise.

If I unplug my Stiletto 2 and let it run on battery, no noise, so obviously it is picking up a lot of noise when running on the cars 12V.

The radio shack isolator has proved useless.

I have my battery in the back of the car I am toying with running a direct line from the battery and see if that does it.

Any suggestions?
