And per your accent: are you like the guys who worked at the plant where I transferred to in Southside Va...they would "ax" me questions and show me where something was located by saying it's "ritecheer".
The one they would always point out that us Chicago area folks would (and do) say is "youse" instead of "you are".

Ahh Pat...good times! Pat (FastPat, FastPaste), was actually a very interesting and intelligent (imo) fellow from SC who used to be here. I can't do him justice in just a couple of sentences as he was a prolific poster. He was quite passionate, loved to "paste" political stuff, etc., and it was easy for folks to "push his buttons". I don't recall the details, but on one occasion he maybe went a bit "over the line" and I think he was banned, asked to leave, etc. I actually found Pat to be quite likable, but didn't read the "political pastes", so I don't know the details. As far as accents go, I probably just sound funny to many, and although I don't "speak" the language you refer to, I certainly could if I went "oberdare wid 'em"

. You say you lived in Danville...I passed through there on a semi-regular basis whenever I'd head to one of my favorite places...Smith Mountain Lake, one of VA's simply georgous jewels imo.
