PCA club racing is better than most at least in my area. The PCA uses the 13/13 rule which seems to help somewhat to keep the incidents down. Mazda racing, especially Miatas seem to be less so. Some people call Spec Miatas Spec Pinata because they have so much contact.

Realistically though if you go W2W you can't expect to never have contact. I do believe however that depending on your own abilities you can avoid most of it. Your awareness on track is going to save you from most contact. Having said that you have to accept the fact that if you drive your car on a track you have the danger of losing it from things not of your control.

If you can't afford to walk away from the car financially and mentally though you should not race it. There is always Solo in the SCCA.
