We are all descended from an African woman, supposedly, that migrated to Europe sometime circa 100,000 years ago. This was proven by showing that a)the earliest human ancestors are found in Africa, b) almost all recovered fossils from other continents in later time periods have the exact SAME mitochondrial DNA as this one woman, and c) mitochondrial DNA, as opposed to recombinant DNA, passes from mother to child unmodified.

Of course, this whole theory presupposes that our Universe did not 'begin to exist' 4,000 years ago and that the theory of evolution is a more or less valid academic tenet.

I guess we're all related and we're all just one big ball of incest. Werd.
