As an electrical apprentice some 20 years ago, I did a lot of work for GE Med in their MRI testing facility. We had to use GE issued brass tools when the MRIs were operating. They did turn them off on occassion, but safety protocols were still in place to prevent accidents. On the bullitin board was a pic of a 200 lb pallet jack that got sucked into one of the units. Gives you an idea as to how much juice those things have. For fun, we would set a nickel (non-ferrous) in the field. The magnetic flux would still act upon it, but not violently. It would basically hover and rotate. Very cool stuff.
