It is obvious he knows EVERYTHING. Sorry if I bothered you Brian...no threat intended. But in the town where I live, my '72S doesn't get nearly as many "guy looks" as my old pickemup does. AND you're an admitted "yuppie coke head"? Gosh, who's that, Knocking on your door? Brian? Good luck. I think you need it! Best, Paul.
Whoa, it sounds like I really did offend you. I'm sorry if I did. No, you didn't bother me at all, figured your post was just good-natured sarcasm, because of the family reuinion crack and the smiley at the end. Oh, I know I have a LOT to learn about human nature, I know it's not one of my strong points. I don't claim to know everything, or even claim to know much... I was asked about my the reasoning behind my taste in cars, and I responded. That's how I USED to feel about American cars, I know it's not true, just saying that initial feeling led to a dislike of them that remains even if the original reason does not. Again, I didn't mean anything by it and I'm sorry.

No, I'm not a coke-head, that was a joke. I've never done any kind of drugs in my life, just alluding to the stereotype Lambo driver of the 80s.

Again, sorry to anyone I offended. This has gotten a bit off topic, but I think this shows that what car you choose to drive has a whole lot more to do with emotion than with more tangible things. This might explain most people's choice to stay with the 911 instead of the Skyline, and maybe some of the attraction to Porsches in general.

For the record, I drove my Grandpa's 65 Corvette for the first time a few weeks ago and thought it was a lot of fun. Really, I don't mean to insult/piss-off the American car guys. You're a though crowd! No hard feelings?

EDIT:
"my '72S doesn't get nearly as many "guy looks" as my old pickemup does"

I know what you mean, my dad's '70 Land Cruiser with a Chevy 327 in it gets MUCH more positive attention from car guys than my 911 will ever get.
