how is the Ipod as a reader?
I spend months in choosing my CD player and it was not cheap. I am inclined to think (maybe wrongly) that no matter how good digital data you feed it it will spit out relatively flat music.
It would be much better if you could somehow get the digital signal out and have the CD player/Amplifier/Minidisc whatever perform as a DAC unit.
