I could see that. Lowering pressure puts heat into the tire sidewall, which is not where you need it... Good tip.

As a side note, I know of one car that has the "over tired" problem in the extreme: 1050 lbs with driver and 4x 225/45/13 hoosier A6 autocross tires. That works out to roughly 30 lbs for every inch of rubber on the road, vs ~52 lbs per inch for your car as it is now. The result was that on 60F days he couldn't get even the A6s up to temp- they would come in to the pits at 115F "Hot"!

I think it should be possible, somewhere in the ~40 lbs per inch range, perhaps, to run those A6 tires in their correct operating temp range on the big track and be really fast. It's just tricky to get stuck someplace in between, where neither the A6 or R6 are working right...

With 275s and 315s you be at ~46 lbs/ inch... Hmm...
